I'm home, I'm back.
Busy like a bumble bee. I'm working on a report, thus I don't have much time to blog about my trip for the past couple of days. Still, the report is undone, I smell my weekend burning, and next week? I'll be stuck in the office for the whole week as well. 2 things I wish for, sleep and NO OUTBREAK during this stressful period.
Still, I can't believe my BKK trip is over for nearly a week. Let's recall, last week at 22:28, I'm at BKK already, having a great feast at Gold Teak, preparing and armed for the shopping battle. A week later... here I am, sitting down and recalling every bits and pieces of what I've been through.
I really had a great time in BKK, some people said I'm silly for not getting a lot of goodies back, which is the main motive for this trip. But I'm not disturbed by it. Coz' I had a great time, I had a great experience. And if I've a chance to, I had wish to ship Chatuchak market back to SIN. The market is the size of 3 to 4 giantic stadium, and you will end up playing maze inside.
Another thing that makes me fall in love with Bangkok is, the people. And I can see the tremendous difference in terms of hospitality with comparison to my HK trip in early April this year. Everyone just simply makes you feel so welcome, well, I'm not saying all, there bound to be a few bad experiences here and there. And its the warmth from their services that touches you. And now, *drum roll* let the photos do the talking... I shall introduce you "THE LAND OF SMILES"

Ready for the trip. There we have Cien and her boyfriend sending us off.

Off we go, pulling off from the tarmac. Another amazing sunset. To add on to some thrill during our journey, we met a slight turbulence to and fro.

Look who's with us. Its piglet staring aimlessly at the blue blue sky. *giggles*
We arrived at 1720 (GMT +7). Clearing the immigration was smooth without much hassle. Waiting for us at the arrival hall was PriceBreaker personnel, flashing my name making me feel as though I'm a VIP. They provide excellent service and they cater a van to send us to the hotel.

We check-in and as the girls requested, we managed to get an interconnected room. Perhaps they need some protection as I am the superman for the trip. *laughing out loud*

We went to Gold Teak for supper which is at the Hotel Lobby. For the next couple of days, our breakfast were there. And we had the same kind of food throughout. I had butter and bread (which is a MUST for me), while shuhui indulge in her omelette, ting gobbled down the 3 plates full of fruits, salad and other variety and lian sipping the soup that is without much ingredients.

Here's a toast for surviving the 2 hrs 20 mins flight without leg room and high seating pitch with JetstarAsia.

Just before we go to bed, lian suggested to have some photos taken. well, obviously we're trying to make ourself look "gorgeous" with hair tied like a mad woman, pants pulled to chest level, striking a nerdy pose with a nerdy smile.... here you have it, the NERDY FAMILY.
We woke up at 7am this morning. Washed up and getting all ready. Had our breakfast and moved on. We head off to MBK and Siam Square. There's nothing fascinating about MBK but it still attract a lot of people there during the weekend. I still prefer Siam Square though. This place reminds me of Times Square in HK. There's different shops selling really cool clothings, sneakers that are priced almost the same as those in SIN. Just so much interesting things to see. Not forgetting Siam Paragon, where all the luxury goods are. In BKK, this high end goods and clothings are definitely much more expensive as compared to Singapore. This is because, Giordana or Baleno is already considered "branded" there.

After some tedious walking around MBK and Siam Square, we settled down at Swensen for a drink. I fell in love with their drinking cup. Its so unique, too bad, can't get them off the shelve. Just feel like stealing one.

Had McDonalds for dinner. Yes, its the legendary PORK burger. It tasted good and was really cheap. God, imagine SGD $3 for a meal. Back here, you can only get burger without any drinks or fries. Pathetic.

After a day of walking, this is the best part - FOOT MASSAGE. Its my first time trying out, so was a little ticklish at first but was able to get over it. The twisting and cracking just work wonders to my bones. WoW!

Famished? We ordered room service, had fried kway teow with chicken. Nothing worth hoo-haaing about.
We tucked in as soon as we washed up. We need to restore our energy to comb Chatuchak Market the next day. For the 2 days we went (sat and sun) it was raining. So its wet and mosquitoes are everywhere. But still, I love that place. Its really a place for bargain. Always be persistent and slash prices 30-40% of the cost price. Surprisingly, my bargaining skills are way off better than the ladies. Wahaha, I'm trained professionally at the Institute of Bargaining ok!! Also, I've promised myself that a few years down the road, if I have a chance to move out and have a home of my own, I'm going back there to get all the home decorative items. Especially the oil paintings, they're amazingly beautiful. Love it.

We left chatuchak at about 1630. Back to the hotel to take a rest (which is much needed after hours of walking). Went back to Siam Square and Bonanza to shop. Its like the Orchard Road in Bangkok.

For dinner, we settled down at iBERRY cafe. This cafe has a mixture of fusion and country feel -with really nice ambience but not so tasty food. It cost only SGD 6. So in Bangkok, its pretty easy to find a great dining area with great ambience yet you're paying peanuts. Whereas in SIN, it can go up to $40 for a meal with equal standards.

Hard Rock Cafe that's filled with ang-mohs, ang-mohs and more ang-mohs everyday.
On the last day, we had the long lost A&W for lunch. So its a chance not to be missed. We gobbled down Waffle with ice-cream, root beer float, chicken, burger and curly fries to ensure that the A&W is filled to the brim of our stomach!

The aftermath of hungry ghost!
We tidy up at the hotel lobby and arrived at BIA at 1715 for our 2005 flight.

The queue at the Check in counter was really long. It took us almost an hour to get over through the immigration and when we're finally at the gate, we're ready to boarding. The flight back was nearly packed.

I had Nasi Goreng with satay and fish on board and a cup of warm milo. It cost me $10 for that meal. Things are already costing a bomb when I'm in the mid air. Gosh!
Transportation: The cab in Bangkok is freakily cheap. To the extend the max we pay for the longest journey (to chatuchak) is only SGD $1. Either which you can try the Tuk-Tuk as well. Its thrilling.
And for pratunam market which we visited on the evening of day 2, i rate it as an average place.
That's about it. I really missed BKK and I would love to go back there for a longer stay in future. But, i'm gonna save up during my NS days for an Aussie or NZ trip right after ORD first. At least, I'm keeping myself motivated to get rid of those dreadful NS days.
Cheers.
